Homeschool Science Explorers: September, Geology

Homeschool Science Explorers (Ages 5–10)

Come explore with us as we explore how rocks tell the story of Earth's past.

Homeschool Science Explorers invites children to discover, investigate, and connect with other homeschool students through hands-on science experiences. Each month features a new science topic explored over two classes, giving students the opportunity to ask questions, make discoveries, and build a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Through experiments, investigations, outdoor exploration, creative projects, and take-home crafts, young scientists will develop curiosity, confidence, and problem-solving skills while learning alongside their peers. Students will also have opportunities to build friendships through group activities, science games, and shared outdoor adventures at PMEC.

Homeschool Science Explorers provides a fun balance of science learning, creativity, exploration, and community for young homeschoolers.

* This is a drop-off class
* We will need a minimum of 6 students
* If weather allows all classes will have an element of outdoor time.

Chenais
Hi, my name is Chenais (Sha-nay) and I’m so excited to be here. I live in town with my husband and two young children. We spend as much time outdoors as we can playing, learning, adventuring and exploring. I love teaching, and helping others. I look forward to being an educator at PMEC and expanding my knowledge of the outdoors.

Hello! My name is Carolyn; I live in town with my husband, two daughters, and son. I hold a B.A. in English Language and Literature and a Master of Education. From a young age, I’ve been captivated by elements of nature—bringing collections home from the beach or the mountains—and we’ve encouraged this same curiosity in our children. Recently, I’ve decided to pursue a career at PMEC that combines my love for nature with my background in education. I'm excited to be a part of the team! My hobbies include skiing, ice skating, hiking, paddleboarding, running, baking, writing, and the concept of hygge.
